Life update: In which my better half has a book out

Hello!

Lots to talk about today so I will dive right in with the most exciting thing that's happening Chez Nous this week, and that's the publication of The Secrets We Keep, the new book by my husband Adrian, aka psych thriller author AJ Wills.

Out today, The Secrets We Keep was inspired by an infamous child abduction case here in the UK a few years ago and is jam-packed with twists and turns.

I proofread the book, and can honestly say I was hooked from the first page to the last, and I think you'll love it too.

Here's the blurb...

It’s only a short walk, but when ten-year-old Annie Warren fails to return home from school, her parents, Cathy and Kit, are frantic with worry.

The police and local community launch a massive search, but with every hour that passes, hopes of finding Annie alive fade.

Meanwhile, a hungry press pack descends on the town, sensing a big story brewing.

Among them is Yannick Kellor, an ambitious local TV news reporter determined to make his name. But he’s not the only one digging into the Warrens’ past and suspicions soon surface that maybe Cathy and Kit know more about what’s happened to their daughter than they’re letting on.

Because little girls don’t just vanish into thin air, do they?

The Secrets We Keep is at the special launch price of 99p/99c so why not check it out?

I know I'm biased, but it really is a great read, and it'll give you something to dive into while you wait for the publication of my new book!

Talking of which, I would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who took the time to take part in the little survey in my last newsletter to decide on a cover for The Invite.

I had a great response, and while the results were pretty close, there was still one clear winner.

The voting went like this:

Cover 1 - 57%

Cover 2 - 43%

So Cover 1 it is!

I loved them both, but I do think the cover you have chosen is right on brand, fitting in brilliantly with my other books, so thank you for that!

I am busy working my way through the edits, and am still pretty confident the book will be out towards the end of November, but I'll keep you posted.

I haven't had a thriller out since The Promise You Made last November so it's about time I had a new release!

Actually, The Promise You Made and Should Have Known Better have both been chosen for Kindle Monthly Deals in the UK and will be 99p apiece throughout November.

Just click on the links below if you'd like to check them out.

In other news, we picked up our new kitten a couple of weeks ago, and already I can't imagine life without her.

We have called her Amber, and she really is a sweetheart. She is taking her training to become a writer's cat very seriously and is asleep in her bed on my desk as I write this.

Our other two cats, Minstrel and Luna, were initially less impressed, but are slowly getting used to the idea of having a new kid on the block. I'm sure they'll be rubbing along together just fine before too long.

That's all from me for now. I hope you enjoy Adrian's book. If you have time to leave him a review on Amazon or Goodreads you'll earn me a few Brownie points!

If my edits go well (fingers crossed!) I might even have a publication date for The Invite the next time I post.

Until the next time,

Amanda
