Hello,
It's now been two weeks since the launch of my new domestic thriller, Should Have Known Better, and I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to every single one of you who has bought, borrowed, reviewed or told your friends about the book. I really appreciate your support!
Thanks in no small part to your help, the launch has gone better than I could have hoped for.
This morning I even broke into the top 1,000 books in the whole of the Amazon Kindle store in the UK. It may not sound like much, but there are hundreds of thousands of books on Amazon, so I was pretty chuffed!
I had to take a screenshot for posterity!
The reviews have been amazing so far, too. Readers seem to have enjoyed my take on family-centred psychological suspense.
Here are just some of the things people have said:
- 'I started this book and literally could not put it down! I was so impressed by the convincing characters and got so caught up in their lives I forgot I was actually reading fiction!'
- 'A fabulous read that had me hooked from the start.'
- 'The characters are believable and the plot has plenty of twists. Ultimately it's about the love between family members, in particular the love between a mother and daughter... Would thoroughly recommend this book.'
In other exciting news, I finally got my sticky little mitts on the first paperback copies of the book this morning.
Nothing quite beats that feeling of seeing your book in print for the first time.
All those hours staring blankly at a computer screen, the head-scratching, pen-chewing and day-dreaming.
The tap-tap-tapping away at the keyboard, the re-writes, the editing and proofing.
The blood, sweat and tears.
Similar to childbirth, it's all forgotten when you hold your book baby in your hands...
To celebrate, I am holding a giveaway!
I'm offering one reader in the UK a chance to win a signed paperback copy of Should Have Known Better.
For readers outside the UK there will be an ebook up for grabs.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to head over to my Facebook page, like the page and share and comment on the competition post, which is pinned to the top of the page. I will pick two winners at random on Friday 10 July.
If you're not lucky enough to win, Should Have Known Better is still at its special launch price of £1.99/$2.99, so if you're looking for a tense and twisty read why not check it out here.
Meanwhile, my first domestic thriller, When She Finds You, is currently just 99p/99c at the moment.

That's all from me for now. Good luck with the giveaway and happy reading!
