The Girl in the Window is my tenth psychological thriller and tells the story of two doppelgangers who meet by chance in Cornwall.

Laura is fleeing a broken relationship. Alana’s problems are much closer to home.

When Laura suggests they swap places it seems the answer to everything. Little does she know her nightmare is only just beginning…

It’s probably my darkest book yet and explores themes of identity and trust, perception versus reality, and power and control.

I got the idea for The Girl in the Window after seeing a post on Facebook about a Canadian photographer, François Brunelle, who’s spent the last twenty years photographing real-life doppelgangers from all over the world.

Scrolling through the comments, one story stopped me in my tracks. A woman was in a bar in Tenerife when she spotted a photo on the wall of someone who looked exactly like her — same haircut, same outfit, everything. The photo was years old, but her friends refused to believe she hadn’t been there before!

Of course, my writer’s brain went into overdrive. What if a woman really did find her double — and decided to track her down? And what if she got far more than she bargained for in the process…

That was the spark that became The Girl in the Window — my darkest, twistiest thriller yet.
